John “Jack” Malinosky passed away unexpectedly at his home in Calabash, North Carolina on Sunday evening July 9, 2017 at the age of 83.
Jack was born on April 15, 1934 in Winton, Pennsylvania to Stella and Joseph. After high school, he served in the U.S Navy and Naval Reserve from 1953 to 1961.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy he met Alice Huguenin who would become his wife of 56 years.
The couple settled in Connecticut where they raised three children – John, Cheryl and Joseph.
For the last twenty five years Jack and Alice were residents of Calabash, North Carolina where Jack was a member of the American Legion.
Those close to him will always remember his sense of humor and how he loved to amuse people by telling a good story. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need – friends and strangers alike. He was a lifelong lover of music, often sitting and listening to country music for hours, but was happiest when beside his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Huguenin) Malinosky, his son John Malinosky Jr. and his wife Gina of Terryville, CT, his daughter Cheryl Sohn and her husband Andrew of Evanston IL, and his youngest son Joseph “Jay” Malinosky and his partner Heather Sullivan of Zion,Illinois, as well five grandchildren Emily, Rebecca and John Malinosky III, and Lucas and Leia Sohn. Jack also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Dorothy Motel and Betty Cain.
A memorial service will be held in Jack’s memory at St. Brendan’s Church on Ocean Highway West in Shallotte, NC on July 28, 2017 at 10AM.
