Patricia Ann Pero
1933 – 2019
Patricia “Pat” Pero age 85 found peace within God’s light and presence on Saturday June 15th. Pat was a loving wife to John for 66 years, having been high school sweethearts. She was a cherished mother to Paul Pero (Barb), Mark Pero, Mary Ellen Heyler (Sam), Karen Pero and Elaine Murar (John). She was a beloved grandmother to 10 grandchildren (Keith, Katlyn, Holly, Nick, Edward, Patricia, Carrie, Josh, Rachel and Brian). Pat also enjoyed seeing her family grow with her 11 great-grandchildren (Haley, Lydia, Abigail, Joanna, Isaac, Vincent, Mackenzie, Makayla, Lee, Samantha and Haven).
In addition to her parents (Frank and Agnes Chmura), she is proceeded in death by her brother, John Chmura and sisters Francis Rogers, Teofila and Genevieve Chmura. Nephews proceed in death are Frank, Thomas, Steven Rogers and Michael Chmura. She has three surviving nieces, Diana Johnson (Lance), Rita Kiter (Edward) and Kathleen Chmura.
Pat was proud of her first work opportunity as a telephone operator, she then moved on to her most important job of raising her five children. She once again joined the workforce at Hubbard Public Library. Later, she worked as a receptionist at the YMCA in Youngstown, Ohio. She always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed helping people. Her other passion was gardening and flowers always bloomed well under her attentive care. Pat enjoyed walks on Sunset Beach, which became a family favorite – and later her home.
Throughout her lifetime, Pat always put family first and supported them through many major life events. Her words of encouragement were a reflection of God’s presence and love given to others. She was quick to put others before herself and believed you could make a difference with just a few words of love.
We fully believe she has found true peace and comfort when she was taken to meet our Lord and Savior on a sunny Saturday in the Carolinas. Her final resting place will be next to her father in her hometown of Meadville, PA. Rest in Eternal Peace, beloved Patricia.
A Catholic Burial Mass will be held on June 29th at 11:00 am at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St. Meadville, PA 16335
