Vivian Sweeney

Vivian Sweeney

Vivian’s life was nothing short of a success story. A multi-talented, endlessly loving, and fiercely strong woman, she entered this world August 16, 1940. She was born to Vincent and Irene Knight in New Brunswick, NJ. Sibling to Nancy Watts (Jim) and Kenneth Knight (Mary).

Vivian graduated in 1958 from Delhaas High School in Bristol, PA. She wore many hats in her lifetime, a mother, a wife, a business owner, and a talented artist in her spare moments. A former resident of Levittown, PA, she worked at US Steel Fairless Works and the Bucks County Board of Assistance. She was a desk clerk, social worker, and ultimately office manager. Vivian moved to Sunset Beach in 1987 where she and her (late) husband, Frank, became small business owners. They operated a produce stand, introduced Myrtle Beach to the New Orleans Snowballs, and eventually established the Back Porch Ice Cream Shoppe in Calabash, North Carolina.

Vivian is remembered by her children Cheryl Davis (Glenn), Donna Elicker (Tony), and Donald Foose (Sylvia); grandchildren Zachary, Frances, Samantha, Santina, Summer, Savannah, and Jacob; great grandchildren Brayden, Peighton, Carter, Sophia, Caden Scarlett, Addy Mae and Hunter.

Vivian’s impact on her family, friends, congregation, and patrons has left cherished memories for all.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00AM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel.
