Obituary
Ann Marie (Combs) Ennis, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, colleague and friend, of Sunset Beach, NC, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was born in Margaretville, NY on September 8, 1941, to Milton Combs and Ruth (Craft) Combs. She grew up in Fleischmanns, NY before moving to Woodstock, NY. She graduated from Kingston High School in Kingston, NY on June 23, 1959, and she continued her education later in life as a nursing student in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
She eventually relocated to Sunset Beach, NC where she took care of her mother and worked at Callahan’s in Calabash, NC. Her final weeks were spent celebrating her 83rd birthday with friends and colleagues, getting surprised visits from her son and great grandson on her birthday and enjoying ice cream with her granddaughter and coming home to Peanut. She enjoyed spending her nights reaching out to old friends and speaking with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Ruth Combs of Sunset Beach, NC, and her brother, Alan Combs of Daytona, Florida.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Combs, of Daytona, FL, her son, William Weigel and his wife Marla of Conway, SC, her son, Paul Weigel and his wife Linda of Middletown NJ, and her daughter, Melissa Pagnotta and her husband Ed of Lake George, NY, 7 grandchildren, Austin Weigel of Woodstock, NY, Scott Weigel of Charlotte, NC and Abigail Weigel of Richmond, VA, Andy Lockhart and his wife Ann of Anchorage, AK, Amanda Hill and her fiancé Greg Bratcher of Conway, SC, Jessie Pagnotta of Lake George, NY and Jacob Pagnotta of Lake George, NY, and 5 great grandchildren, Hunter Hill, Fisher Bratcher, Dallas Bratcher, Angelina Lockhart and Abigail Lockhart and her extended family at Callahan’s, friends and neighbors and her beloved companion, Peanut.
We invite you to celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Visitation at 1:00pm followed by Services at 2:00pm at the Brunswick Funeral Services, 5229 Ocean Hwy W, Shallotte, NC.
