Obituary
Audrey Lynne Connolly, 81, formerly of Marblehead, Massachusetts, passed away on October 21, 2024 at her home in St. James, North Carolina after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.
Audrey and her husband, George, raised their three boys in Marblehead before moving to Southport, North Carolina in 2010.
Audrey was a Town of Marblehead employee for many years, working with the Town Clerk, Town Accountant, Board of Health and Council on Aging.
She was active in many charitable and civic organizations there and here in St. James including the Brunswick Civil War Round Table and Waves for K.I.D.S.
She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her loving husband of 58 years, George, she is survived by her son Sean and wife Lynne of Knoxville, Tennessee; son George and wife Chelsea and grandsons George III and Cooper of Breckenridge, Colorado; and son Liam and wife Nancy and granddaughter Mackenzie and grandson Keegan of Mequon, Wisconsin.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel in St. James on November 8 at 10 a.m.
Donations in her honor may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, where wonderful care was taken of her in her declining health.
