Barry H. Glick

Barry H. Glick, 79, died on February 16, 2021 from injuries sustained during the tornado in Ocean Isle Beach.  He leaves behind his beloved wife Jeanne and his family, including his son Michael Aninger and wife Brianna, daughter Susan Morton and partner Geoffrey Dennis, brothers Jack and Noel, the hundreds of students who passed through his 7th grade classroom at Brightwood Elementary over 36 years, and the many students he met as a substitute teacher for 14 years at Town Creek Elementary and Waccamaw School.

Barry loved his family, his country and his music.  He lived a life of service.  He retired from the US Army Reserves in 1995 as a colonel after 30 years.  Barry was known for his love of music.  He enjoyed the opera and played his clarinet with joy – from classical to his memorable klezmer music.

Barry was born in New York City in 1941.  He graduated from the City College of New York and received his masters’ degree in history from La Verne University.

Barry was loved by many, and he will be missed.
