Obituary
Bette Anne Casagranda, 75 of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on June 29, 2022 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.
She worked 35 years in the insurance industry in LA and Orange counties, CA. Bette attended St. Mary’s Academy and Los Angeles City College. In 2007 Mike and Bette left California and retired in Sunset Beach, NC and enjoyed retirement living with golf, the beach and friends.
She was born in Inglewood, CA on June 2, 1947 the daughter of the late Hugh Francis Murphy and Mary Donahue Quilty Murphy. They were Irish immigrants who met in Los Angeles, CA and later became proud American citizens.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Michael David Casagranda; son, Michael Casagranda wife, Chantal; two grandchildren, Philip and Vivien Casagranda; brother, Rory Murphy and her cousins throughout the US and Ireland.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Member Activity Center, Sea Trail Plantation, Sunset Beach, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Bette’s memory to: Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center (Brunswick House) 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
