Obituary
Betty Ruth S. Parker, 85, of Supply, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Born in Southport on August 2, 1932, she was a daughter of the late J.B. Sermons and Elneta Holden Sermons. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Robin P. Hobbs; granddaughter, Julie Marie Parker, and a sister, Hatridge Linkous.
Surviving are her husband, J. Fred Parker, Sr.; son, The Rev. John F. “Ricky” Parker, Jr., Clarendon, NC; daughter, Wanda P. Bradsher (Tommy), Supply; grandchildren, Erika Campbell (Rusty), Melissa Lee (Chris), Will Bradsher, II, Meghan Casteen (Chad), Kortney Nowell (Gary), Sarah Knox (Cody), Augusta Caison (Troy), and Madeline Hobbs; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm in Sharon United Methodist Church by the Reverend Eddie Hill. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family requests memorials be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physician’s Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
