Obituary
A celebration of life service for Mr. Billy Wayne Graves, age 79, will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Visitation with the family will start at 1pm at Brunswick Funeral Services, with a service to follow beginning at 2pm.
Mr. Graves was born on December 6, 1943 to Weldon and Rachel Rutherford Graves in Medina, TN. Bill graduated from Medina High School in 1961, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was an avid golfer, and was able to finally settle down in Calabash, NC, the home of over 50 golf courses.
He is survived by his wife Linda Graves, son and daughter Richard Hankins (Jane) of California and Kristen Graves of Apex, two brothers Jerry Graves (Gloria) and Glynn Graves (Sally)of Tennessee, sister Linda Smith (Rev. Gerald) of Tennessee, and three grandchildren Avery, Daniel, and Aubrey “Peanut”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers Marion “Buddy” Graves, C.T. Graves, and James Graves, and a sister Betty Graves.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations of new or used golf balls in memory of Bill, to be sent to the local First Tee - Coastal Carolinas chapter.
