Bogdanka “Bogie” Kapetanovic Cook, 86, of Little River, SC passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born on February 26, 1939, in Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Milan Kapetanovic and Marija Foltyn Kapetanovic.

Bogie was eleven years old when she emigrated from Yugoslavia to Wisconsin with her parents and younger sister, Gordie. On September 12, 1961, she married her husband, Charlie, and became a devoted military wife, acting as a single parent to their two young sons while Charlie served multiple tours in Vietnam. Bogie worked for many years at Carolina Savings Bank, which later changed to BB&T. She happily retired in 2004 to enjoy her life at the beach, and some well-earned relaxation time. One of her great joys were her weekly shopping excursions, but the happiest times were when her family all got together and shared a good meal and laughter. Bogie was a kind and outgoing person, who loved to have a good chat with anyone she encountered. She will be sadly missed by those whose life she touched, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers.

She is survived by her children Brian Cook (Barbara) and Stephen Cook (Sharon); grandchildren Ashley Cook (Trey), Joe Cook, David Cook and Kaili Cook; great grandchildren Levi and Alexis; brothers Dany Kapetanovic (Debbie) and Mick Kapetanovic (Jelena); brother-in-law, William Komassa; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Cook and sister Gordonna “Gordie” Komassa.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel with burial to follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
