Obituary
Naval Veteran Bruce A. Bailey of Sunset Beach NC passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 96. He was the son of the late Amanda and James Bailey.
He is survived by two sisters Rita Kellar and Nell Saunders. Also survived by Daughter Pamela Esquilin, a Son David Bailey, Stepdaughters Deb Vanwhy, Lori Harris, Stepsons Richard Harris, and Bob Harris. He had 3 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leona Jean (Lane) Bailey and wife Lois Jean (Harris) Bailey, two brothers, Jack Bailey, Blake Bailey as well as the youngest sister Joyce Dreibeibis and stepson Jim Harris.
Bruce was a Yeoman 3rd class in the Navy and served at the end of WW2 in Shanghai China. He retired from United Telephone Systems. He later became Commander in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Flemington Elks Lodge, Past District Deputy for the National Elks and served on various committees for the Elks. He was a member of the Flemington Fire Department and the NJ Fireman’s Association. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion.
