Obituary
Carol Joan Hofacker Schwarz, age 86 died October 20, 2024, at her home in Calabash, NC surrounded by her family.
Carol was born on November 5, 1937, in Patterson, NJ to Robert and Eileen Zimmerman Hofacker.
Carol loved her family and many friends, and she enjoyed a nice glass of wine. She loved to read, garden, travel and living at the beach. She and her husband Carl were active in the American Legion Post #503 in Calabash. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Robert Schwarz (Bonnie) of Calabash, NC; Craig Schwarz (Carol) of Kernersville, NC; Kathleen Fortier of Calabash, NC; grandchildren: Ashley (Chris), Danielle (Louis), Connor (Erin), Matthew (Natalie), Sarah (Jordan), great grandchildren: Camden, Oliver, Taylor, Mary-Kate, one sister: Jean Rohr of Somerset, NJ and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Carl W. Schwarz.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 11:00 - 11:30 AM and the Memorial Service will be at 11:30 AM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, 5229 Ocean Hwy W Shallotte, NC with Rev. Henry Rehder officiating. Inurnment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
