Obituary
Carol Offt Smith, age 81, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on April 29, 2025.
Carol was born May 16, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia, to Eleese Hawkins Camp and Andrew Offt. She attended Jordan High School and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Psychology.
Carol married William Smith on December 26, 1966, in Atlanta, GA, and together, they raised three sons.
For many years, Carol worked primarily in the home taking care of her boys. She also enjoyed a career as a licensed real estate agent and went on to work for Triad Guaranty Insurance Corporation, from where she retired.
Along with her husband and sons, Carol’s great loves in life were her grandchildren, her pets, and the beach. She loved having her chair in the sand facing the water, with her family and her dog at her side.
Remaining to cherish Carol’s memory are spouse, William Smith; son, Matt Smith; son, Kent Smith and daughter-in-law, Catherine Pritchard; son, Alex Smith and daughter-in-law, Heather Smith; grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Sarah Smith, Daniel Smith, and Benjamin Smith; brother, Philip Camp; and sister-in-law, Anne Zuber.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and three of her brothers.
A private memorial service will be planned for a later date.
