Carol Sue Gwyn
Obituary
Carol Sue Brennan Gwyn, age 68 of Oak Island, NC, died Friday, September 27, 2024, at her home.
Carol was born in West Chester, PA on August 25, 1956, to Wendell Everett and Mary Robertson Hunter Brennan.
Carol had a unique appreciation for the simple things in life. She enjoyed sunsets, birds, colorful flowers, and walks outside. She spent many hours solving crossword puzzles, watching classic movies and listening to music from some of her favorite artists like Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow. Still a kid at heart, she enjoyed watching Charlie Brown and following the principle that everything tastes better with ice cream. She supported her community however she could, whether it was volunteering in her sons' schools or picking out gifts at Christmas to send to children overseas. She loved her family very much and was proud of them always. She especially loved being Nana to her grandkids, Caleb and Cora.
She is survived by her husband: Dealis Gwyn; sons: Brian Gwyn (Laura) of Raleigh, NC; Kevin Gwyn (Ansley) of Garner, NC; grandchildren: Caleb and Cora Gwyn; brothers: David Brennan (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC; Jeff Brennan (Suzanne) of Duluth, GA and nephew: Mike Brennan (Kathy) of Decatur, GA, and other numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Service 3479 Southport-Supply Road Bolivia, NC 28422. The Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Henry Rehder officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Lifeline Children’s Services, the ministry that helped bring her grandchildren home (https://lifelinechild.org/how-to-donate/).
