Carole Casselman Soucek

Carole Soucek, 76, died at home on December 30, 2018. Born on January 19, 1942 in Turbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ezra Robert and Ida Estelle Forbes Casselman. She graduated from East Clarendon High School in Turbeville, SC, on June 3, 1959 and from the South Carolina Baptist Hospital and College for Nurses on July 6, 1962. She retired from her position as Registered Nurse from Resurrection Hospital on January 18, 2000 after serving for thirty seven years. During her early years she served as head nurse and went on to receive awards for her caring bedside approach, organization, and professionalism. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, traveling, and with her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, Robert Soucek; daughters, Robine Soucek and Renee (Bryan) Beck; son, John (Debbie) Soucek; grandchildren, Camille Beck, Walker Soucek and Apryl Beck; brother, David (Marcha) Casselman; sisters, Betty (Jake) Schwartz, Dale Evans, Nell Derrick, Edna Jean Scott, Lois Hurst, and Lucy Sims; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Johnny, Beckman, and Benjamin Casselman; and sisters, Blanche Hinson and Eloise Spigner.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2018, at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church, 1090 Hickman Rd., NW, Calabash, NC with burial in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. Pastors John Bracey and Phil Norris will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
