Obituary
Carolyn Powell, 78, of Shallotte passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 after an illness which she bore with her usual grace and good humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaither and Elizabeth Crutchfield, and her sister, Linda Spivey. Carolyn will be remembered for her contagious joy, her many cherished friends, and her gift of conversation.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Pamela Powell, of Supply and Lisa Powell of Shallotte; niece, Susan Spivey King of Shallotte; nephew, William Spivey of Whiteville; special friend and business associate Baiba Bomersheim of Shallotte; and the father of her children, Jerry Powell of Calabash.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte.
