Catherine Edith Clay Mayo Norman, 98, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC died Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Born in Enfield, NC on August 26, 1924, to Joseph Henry Clay and Pattie Landen Clay. She was the last of ten siblings.
Ms. Catherine was a lifetime member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church Ladies Club, served as a volunteer at the former Brunswick Hospital for twenty-five plus years and a former member of the Shallotte Volunteer Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughter Phyllis Mayo Kuhnemann, of Shallotte, NC; sons Phillip Mayo, of Siler City, NC and Frederick Mayo, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; grandchildren Sonja Mayo, Phillip Mayo,Jr., and Jennifer Kuhnemann; great-grandchildren Dalton Perry VanSteen (Shannon), Thomas Clay VanSteen and Lilly Madison Mayo.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00am in the Shallotte Presbyterian Church.
