Charles E. (Chuck) Fitzgerald, age 78, died on September 15, 2017 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia, NC. Chuck was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 21, 1938 the son of the late Francis and Ida Daley Fitzgerald. He served in the US Air Force and was a graduate of American University, Washington DC. He was employed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission until his retirement to North Carolina in 2004. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, Shallotte, NC
Surviving are his wife, Mary; children Kathleen Tardy (Jennings) of Vinton, Virginia, Michael Fitzgerald (Dawn), Huntingtown, MD and Christopher Fitzgerald (Vicki) of Centreville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Sean Fitzgerald (Amber), Samantha Fitzgerald, Andrew Tardy, Brynn Tardy and Aidan Fitzgerald.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his three sisters, Shirley Adams, Rita LeClair and Norine Marsden.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 26, at 10:00 AM with interment to follow in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 955 Mercy Lane, SE, Bolivia, NC 28422
