Obituary
Colonel (Ret.) U.S. Army Charles E. Stokes, Jr., 78, of Holden Beach, NC died Sunday, October 16, 2016.
He was born October 4, 1938 in Kanawha, WV son of the late Charles E Stokes, Sr. and Celestine Werner Stokes. Charles was a Retired Colonel of the U.S Army. He was a member of the Rotary International and the Greenbrier Military School Alumni Association.
Surviving are his wife, Rosnani “Rose” Stokes; son, Danny Stokes of Tacoma, WA; daughter, Camela S. Noonan of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Ruth Ann Riffee of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Salvation Army: 820 N 2nd Street Wilmington, NC 28401.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Holden Beach Chapel.
