Obituary
Charlotte Rae Hewett, 79, of Civietown, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017.
She was born in Sanford, VA on March 4, 1937, to the late Weldon and Lillian Goodwrench White. She loved her children and grandchildren, attended Friendship Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing in her free time.
Charlotte is predeceased by her loving husband, Mack Hewett; daughter, Amelia Ann Hewett; brother, Oscar White; and her sister, Jean Hewett.
Surviving are sons, Lee M. Hewett, Jr. (Mitzie) of Supply, Weldon Paul Hewett, Sr. (Geannie) of Civietown; daughter, Tina M. Hewett Padgent (Wendell) of Ash; brothers, Andrew White, Tommy White, Allen White, Bruce White, and Clifford White; sisters, Mary Dreckman, Lois Messick, Lillian Mae Walters, and Norma Rhodes; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services to be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 23 at Friendship Baptist Church in Ash, NC. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, NC, on Thursday, February 24 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Active casket bearers will be Michael Hewett, James Allen Hewett, Houston Hewett, Weldon Paul Hewett Jr., Christopher Smith, and Michael Smith.
