Obituary
Clarence Michael Russ, 78, of Wilmington, formerly of Shallotte, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was a son of the late Daniel Clarence Russ and Gladys Elizabeth Milligan Russ who survives. He taught for many years at Waccamaw and Shallotte Schools. A very positive and people person, he was active in his community serving on the Shallotte Town Council for sixteen years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a member of the Scottish Rite and Woodmen of the World.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Morgan Elisabeth King.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his loving wife, Mary L. Russ, of Wilmington, his son, Stephen M. Russ of Wilmington; daughter, Mary Beth R. King (Michael) of Kure Beach, NC; brother, Harvey D. Russ (JoAnn) of Hickory, NC; sister, Gloria R. Bland (Harold) of Shallotte; and grandchildren, Emily and Abby King.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 22, at Camp United Methodist Church, Shallotte, where he was a member, by The Rev. Richard Vaughn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.
Interment will be in Brooks Cemetery with Masonic Rites accorded by Shallotte Lodge #727 AF&AM.
