Connie Cornell Rush

Connie Cornell Rush

Heaven welcomed the most beautiful woman and dear friend on Saturday, October 4, 2025, when Connie Cornell Rush, 84, entered its gates.  Connie was born to Jacob Cornell and Maria Kiesler Cornell in Frankfort, Germany on February 8, 1941.  During World War II, she and her mother lived with her grandparents, who cherished and doted on their only granddaughter.

Connie was destined to see the world.  She married an American GI, and together they were stationed in various European sites until finally settling in the United States.  Connie raised three wonderful children who adored her.  Later, she married John E. Rush.  They enjoyed an active life and had many friends in Ohio before retiring to Sunset Beach.  In Sea Trail, Connie was active in the Myghty Mytes and Lady Niners golf groups, the Hand & Foot Card Club, and the Sea Trail Garden Club.  Connie was an excellent golfer, and she was an avid walker.  Her many friends would see her walking throughout the community, often accompanied by one of the couple’s beloved Chow Chows.  In addition, John and Connie enjoyed travels all over the world.

Everyone who knew Connie loved her.  She was one of the kindest and most thoughtful friends you could have.  Connie is survived by her loving husband, John, by her three children, Doug Cowart (Christine), David Cowart (Joanie), and Pam Jaeger (Ken), and her dearly loved grandchildren Bryan Jaeger (Christina), Eleni Rush, and Benjamin Rush.

There will be a bricklaying service honoring Connie at Sea Trail in the spring.  Details will be announced at that time.
