Craig Robert Sweetman, 75, of Carolina Shores, NC, passed away the morning of December 17, 2022. Craig was born on November 12, 1947 to Erwin & Genevieve Sweetman in Suffern, NY. After graduating from Delaware Valley High School, in 1965, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and fought proudly in Vietnam 1967-1968. In 1976 while working as a mechanic at Erickson Oldsmobile he met Patrice Miller, and they wed in 1977, going on to have 2 children, Tara & Candice.

Craig was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He was an avid Teamsters member, and drove for Yellow Freight for over 25yrs. Craig was also a passionate member of Post 503 American Legion where he served as Commander for two years.  He was a lifetime member of Lodge 2679 Calabash Elks, and Lifetime Member of Calabash VFW post 7288. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, golf & cooking.

He is survived by his wife Patrice (Miller) Sweetman, daughters Tara Sweetman, & Candice (Albert) Gary, as well as his daughter from a previous marriage Elizabeth (Richard) Doolittle. He also was survived by his grandson Craeg, who was more like the son. At this time no arrangements have been made for a funeral, but a celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.

The family requests that in lieu of any flowers that donations be submitted to a charity in his name, “Unforgotten Souls”.
