Obituary
Daniel Leamon “Popcorn” Russ, 75, of Longwood died June 16, 2019. Born in Brunswick County on August 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Leamon Daniel Russ and Vada Mae Etheridge Russ.
He was a USMC Veteran of the Viet Nam War and had retired from Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation.
Surviving are his wife, Julie Simmons Russ; son, Matthew “Matt” Russ (Elizabeth Johnson) of Longwood; sister, Martha Jean Lowrimore of Tabor City, NC; nephew, Patrick Lowrimore; and niece, Tracy Lowrimore.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Friendship Baptist Church officiated by The Rev. Mark Register. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
