David Vernon Lamb

David Vernon Lamb, 77, of Bolivia, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Born in Robeson County, North Carolina, on June 21, 1948, David was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Green Berets and was employed with CP&L/Progress Energy Company at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant where he retired after 37 years of dedicated service. David was a man with many talents and interests. He earned his Captain’s license and enjoyed fishing. He was a master gardener who loved spending time in his greenhouse tending to his plants. Most importantly to David, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and the best “Papa” and “Ol’Pa” to his family.

David is survived by the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Angeline “Angie” Sargent Lamb; daughters, Terry Lamb Vernon, Christie Grant (Nathan) and Melissa Rourk (Todd); brothers, Christopher “Chris” Lamb (Geraldine) and Jimmy Lamb (Kim); grandchildren, Nathan (Olivia), Chris (Kimberly), Nicholas, Katie (Anthony), Kelby (Gage), Brianna (Matt), and Noah; great grandchildren, Lincoln, Waelyn, Wyatt, Huckson, Ryder, Graysen, Walker and Wrenley; and special family, Uncle Donald York (Joann), Sean Graham (Val) and Maeson Graham. David was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Vernon Lamb and Bonnie York Lamb, a grandson, Charles “Charlie” Vernon, and a granddaughter, Brenna Lamb Rourk.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Beach Road Baptist Church in Southport, North Carolina. Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.
