Obituary
Deborah Masten Berard, 74, resident of Southport, North Carolina, passed on Sunday, February 9th, 2025.
She was born on August 7th, 1950, in Ashe County, North Carolina.
She is survived by husband Richard Berard and her children Ashley Masten Lech and Robert Masten III.
Debby was an accomplished artist, quiltist, and photographer and shared her work often with the St. James and Southport community. She was always thinking of unique ways to express herself through her artwork and truly loved what she did. Of personal significance to her was the poem Thanatopsis; she incorporated nature into all of her passions and viewed death as a natural part of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00AM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Southport Chapel.
