Dewey Edward Coffelt entered his heavenly home on Monday, January 23, 2017.

Born to John Clifford and Barbara (Lewis) Coffelt on October 30, 1931 in Chattanooga, TN. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. Loving husband of 58 years to Lavata Sue (Corley), loving father of Lynn (Ray) McKinley, Sharon (Kenny) Lewis and Michael Edward Coffelt. Adored grandfather of Gwen, Kristine, Jennifer, Blake, Bryan, Amanda, Tyler, Carlee and Matthew. Great-grandfather to Mariah, Asher, Nathan, Lilly, Trey, Brady and Evelyn. Survived by sister, Bobbie (Robert) Walraven and Sister-in-law Kay.

He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1949 and earned his Chemistry degree at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Mr. Coffelt was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Alpha Cellulose as Vice President of Manufacturing, where he earned several patents.

After his retirement, he opened and operated Supply Boat Company in Supply with his son, Mike. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, John Clifford Coffelt, Jr.

Family will welcome visitors on Saturday, January 28th at 10:00am at Brunswick Funeral Service, 5229 Ocean Hwy W, Shallotte, NC. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am inurnment immediately following.
