Donald Henry Martin, 91, died April 26, 2023, in Southport, NC. He was born in Plymouth, MA on June 14, 1931, a son of Antone Pauls Martin and Marjorie Hartin Martin. He joined the United States Marine Corps entering boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina, and later served his country in the Korean War.
After retirement from the military, he settled his family in Wilmington, North Carolina, and began a career at Block Shirt Factory where he worked in data processing. He finally settled in the Sunset Harbor Community of Brunswick County where he enjoyed playing golf. He was a gardener, enjoyed working on his farm tractor, and painting and carpentry. He was a member of Antioch Bapist Church.
Surviving are his sons, Robert Martin (Carol) of Bolivia and Ernest Martin of Wilmington; his daughter, Joyce Collins of Wilmington; and grandchildren, Michael Shane Collins, Victoria Davis, and Helen Browning.; and great grandson, Austin Collins.
