Obituary
Donald Lee Parker, 85, of Calabash passed away on Sunday, December 3. He was born in Lafayette, Georgia, on February 9, 1932, a son of the late Charlie Pressley Parker and Lillie Mae White Parker.
He served his country as a medic in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a retired painting contractor and a restaurateur having owned Shelia’s Country Kitchen. He loved his church and church family at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was a strong willed man with heart filled with love for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wives, Doris Pearl, Daisy, and Jeanette; three children, Scottie, Shelia, and Donna; step son, Billy Todd, and three siblings, Margaret Bullock, Peggy Mishue, and Flora Mae Booth.
Surviving are his son Donnie Parker (Terri) of Longs, SC; daughter, Wendy Bennett (Dale) of Calabash; step sons, Mickey Smith and Jeff Smith of Calabash; step-daughters, Peggy Todd and Gloria Todd of North Myrtle Beach; brother, Harland Parker of Kingsland, GA; sisters, Ann McLemore of Socastee, SC and Sue Kramer (Johnny) of Boliver, TN; grandchildren, Lonzy Gore, Anna Marie Lee, Jason Gore, Wesley Bennett, Amber Bennett, Corbin Lenard, and Callie Lenard; great grandchildren, Haley Gore, Randy Shelly, Brook Lee, Alex Gore, Jewelie Gore, Taylor Smith, Amanda Smith, Kenny Todd, Christ Todd, Meagen Todd, and Ashley Hawes.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 6, at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church by The Rev. John Brady and The Rev. Phil Norris. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
