Obituary
Donald Wayne Motley, 80, of Longwood, NC, passed away on September 7, 2017.
He was born on March 19, 1937, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late Mr. Josiah Bennett and Mrs. Virginia Motley. Donald married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Perkins, in 1954. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time on the golf course and with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; sons: Donald Motley Jr. and wife Barbara, of Lacey, WA and Ronald Lee Motley and wife Carolyn of Waukesha, WI; daughter: Michelle Yu and husband Leon of Hartford, WI; brother: Bennett Motley and wife Pat of Richmond, VA; sister: Cynthia Gilmer and husband Johnny of PA; grandchildren: David Motley and wife Alisha of Salem, AL; Richard Motley and wife Lindsey of Cecilia, KY; Logan Krueger, Charles Motley, Anna Motley, Jaclyn Motley, Kasey Yu, Jordan Yu; great- grandchildren: Hayley Fenwick, Gabriel Motley, Sloane Motley and Mia Motley.
A visitation and memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Community Church, 730 Whiteville Road, NW, Shallotte, NC, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with the service and fellowship to follow.
