Obituary
Douglas Theodore “Doug” Moody, age 58, died unexpectedly at his home in Shallotte on Monday, October 16. 2023.
Doug was born on February 15, 1965, to Walter and Brenda Moody in Summerville, NJ.
Doug enjoyed hunting and most sports. He was a longtime coach of young boys and girls, coaching baseball and softball. He also had an affinity for Lacrosse and established a team at his high school in New Jersey. He worked as a diesel mechanic at various places, the last at Jim’s Car Care in Ocean Isle. Doug will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Doug is survived by his wife of 38 years: Robin Boyle Moody; son: Wade Moody (Bailee) of Mrytle Beach; daughter: Hailey Moody (Michael) of the home; parents: Walter and Brenda Moody of Shallotte; and brother: Bruce Walter Moody of Calabash.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Brunswick Funeral Service 5229 Ocean Hwy W. Shallotte, NC with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
