Obituary
Douglas M. Floyd, 78, of Ocean Isle Beach, died August 8, 2022. Born in Brunswick County on November 2, 1944, he was a son of Walter Floyd and Kathy Milliken Floyd. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Floyd, and a son, Dougie Floyd.
He was employed for sixty-one years in the dredging profession and was presently leverman for Marcol Dredging Company. He enjoyed fishing, oystering and clamming in the waters around Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.
Surviving are his daughters, Kay Milliken (Bobby Faircloth) of Shallotte and Lisa Gore (Jimmy Allen) of Ocean Isle Beach; brothers, Billy Floyd (Carolyn) of Charleston, SC, Roger Floyd (Susie) of Supply, NC, and Larry “Spud” Floyd of Morehead City, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Lambert (Vernon) and Vera Mae Gray (James), all of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Cagney, Savannah, Ryan, Caroline and Somer; Great grandchildren, Mason, Leighton, Brayden, Sadie and Jett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2022, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel. Burial will be in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
