Douglas Gwyn “Doug” Carter, age 71, of Shallotte, NC went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 15, 1949 the son of the late David Monroe Carter and Muriel Collins Carter.

Doug attended Bible Baptist Church in Supply, NC. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved his spare time fishing, being outdoors and being with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Barbara L. Carter of the home; three children, Tina Waddell and husband, Garvie of Shallotte, NC, Steven Carter and wife, Kim of Wilkesboro, NC and Michael Carter and wife, Brooke also of Shallotte; a brother, Glenn Carter of Upland, California; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Lackey (Dustin), Katelyn Waddell, Brandon Waddell (Raven), Destinee Carter ( Michael Lee Carter), Amber Collins (Christian), Brianna Waddell, Ethyn Carter and Bethany Carter; six great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Addie, Ellie, Caden, Dawson, and baby boy on the way; and a special pet named, “Jessie.”

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday May 26, 2021 in Bible Baptist Church, 2428 Seashore Road, SW Supply, NC 28462 by Pastor Chris Swiatocho officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be: members of the family.
