Dustin “Dusty” Seabrook Powell, 41, of Hope Mills, NC, died February 26, 2023. He was born in Cumberland County, NC on September 14, 1981, a son of Phillip Powell, Sr. and the late Vickie Davis Powell. He was a mama’s boy, but he enjoyed a strong relationship with his entire family, especially his brother Phillip, Jr., being only a year apart in age. His family meant everything to him. He cherished his time growing up in Ocean Isle Beach and the friends he made in the area and at West Brunswick High School. He studied and worked in the library at Fayetteville Technical College.

Dusty loved theater, movies and live shows. He was a student of the confederacy and battles of the Civil War. Being a Southern Man, born and raised, he loved Southern Culture and was proud of his Southern Heritage. His heart was in metal fabrication and he was a Master Metal fabricator at JDM Roofing Company for twenty years.

In addition to his father, Phillip, (Lynn Powell) and brother, Phillip, Jr., he is survived by his sister, Jessica Powell; Niece, Victoria Powell; Nephew, Charleston Powell; Aunts, Denise Howland (Jerry), Diane Powell, Jenny Davis, and Gayle Davis; and Uncle, David Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel, by The Rev. Jason Benton. Burial will be in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
