Dwight Kinwyn Suggs

Dwight Kinwyn Suggs

Dwight Kinwyn Suggs, of Holden Beach, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at the age of seventy-two, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous journey through cancer. Born in Moore Country on April 1, 1954, he was the son of the late George Kinwyn Suggs and Betty Cannady Suggs.

Dwight loved spending days boating on the Intracoastal Waterway with his son, Jeremy, and his granddaughters, Caley and Cait.

Surviving, in addition to his son and granddaughters, are his loving wife, Beth Thomas Suggs; sister, Dwan Suggs Buddin and husband, David; his brothers-in-law, Tommy Thomas and his Special Friend, Suzanne Cagle, Greg Thomas and wife, Kay, and Michael Thomas and wife, Carol, and Scott Thomas and wife, Barbara; and Sister-in-law, Lori Thomas Willis and her husband, Dr. Keith Willis.

He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and treasured friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Dwight was a man who never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people laugh, making them feel welcome and turning acquaintances into lifelong friends. His quick wit, infectious smile, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Dwight spent much of his career in the automotive industry, where he formed countless friendships that endured long after the workday ended. Whether at Leith Lincoln Mercury, Naber Chrysler, Victory Dodge, or throughout the many places he worked over the years, Dwight was respected not only for his work ethic, but for the relationships he built along the way. Of all the blessings in his life, none was greater than his family.

Dwight shared an extraordinary love story with his wife, Beth. Together for more than fifty-two years, they built a life filled with laughter, love, adventure, and unwavering devotion. They grew up together, raised a family together, and faced life’s joys and challenges hand-in-hand. Their marriage was a beautiful example of true partnership and enduring love.

In recent months, Dwight was blessed by an outpouring of love from family and friends who visited, called, prayed, brought meals, shared stories, and helped brighten his days. He enjoyed reminiscing with childhood friends, former coworkers, neighbors, church friends, and family members who came to spend time with him. Those visits became precious gifts that reminded him how deeply he was loved.

Those who knew Dwight will remember his sense of humor, his generous spirit, his love for family and friends, and his ability to find joy even in difficult circumstances. He taught us the importance of loyalty, friendship, hard work, and love. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created. Though we will miss him dearly, we rejoice in knowing that his suffering has ended and that we will see him again.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Liberty Hospice Team, Nurse, and Caregivers throughout Dwight’s illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

While Dwight’s presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, friendship, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is now resting in the arms of his savior.

“Well done good and faithful servant.”
