Earl Devon Andrews

Earl Devon Andrews, 60, of Shallotte, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home.

He was born on November 29, 1956 in New Hanover County, a son of the late Julius and Frances Elizabeth Hewett Andrews.

Earl served in many civic and community organizations, including Union Elementary School Advisory Council & past president of PTO; Shallotte Middle School Advisory Council; West Brunswick High School Advisory Council & past president of the Booster’s Club; Brunswick County Utility Board, Lower Caper Fear Water & Sewer Authority; Shallotte Masonic Lodge#727, Scottish Rite-Wilmington, South Brunswick Island Shrine Club, Sudan Shriners, Sudan Dare Devils; & Shallotte Point Vol. Fire Dept. Board of Directors, & the Brunswick Community College Board of Trustees.

He was currently employed as a manager with Brunswick Electric Membership Corp.

Earl enjoyed fishing on his boat “Just Floundering Around,” gardening on the Farmall owned by his daddy, listening to music, and spending time with his grandson Maddox, and his dog “Pinky Lee.”

Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Tripp Andrews; two daughters, Amanda Andrews Conway (Brad), of Ocean Isle Beach and Meredith Andrews Belk (Dustin) of Troutman; brother, Larry R. Andrews (Priscilla), of Sunset Beach; sister, Judy Andrews Edwards, of Wilmington; a beloved grandson, Maddox Conway.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, June 14th in the Village Point UMC, by the Rev. Richard Stone. Burial will follow in the Gurganus Cemetery with masonic rites.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to Sudan Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Fund, c/o Sudan Shriners, 403 E. Front Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
