Earlie Tharpe, 67, of Ash passed away January 4, 2017, after an illness. He was born in Durham, NC, on October 13, 1949, a son of Charlie J. Tharpe and Lula M. Todd Tharpe. He was a commercial fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Cashwell Tharpe; sons, Michael Tharpe, Earlie J. Tharpe, and Dennis Hall; daughter, Casondra McLaurin; brother, Johnny C. Tharpe; sister, Mary Lou Matthews; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM, Monday, January 9, in the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. Burial will be in Mintz Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday Evening at the home of Mary Lou Matthews.
