E.B. Milliken, ( Edna M Milliken ), she went by her initials because she disliked her middle name. Mama went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning December the 7^th, this had been her continuous daily prayer for 355 days since Daddy passed. E. B. was born 02 August 1933 half way through tobacco season, and was raised on a farm in Grissettown, married in Conway SC, lived at Shallotte, and Shallotte Point her entire life. She was preceded in death by her loving Husband of 71 years, William A. Milliken Sr. ( Alton ). Her parents James Roland Mintz ( J. R. ) and Ruby Barnes Mintz. Two Brothers and three Sisters. E. B. was the last surviving child of J. R. Mintz. She is survived by two sons, William A. Milliken Jr, ( Al ), ( Glenda ), James Horton Milliken, ( Jamie ), ( Missy ). She unofficially but lovingly adopted a special son Keith Davis. Four grandchildren Justin N. Milliken, ( Carmen ), Megan A. Milliken ( McCall ), William Nina Milliken, Casey Jordan Milliken, and Amy Holden. Two very special great grandchildren, Shelby James Milliken, and Asbury Evan Milliken. Mama did not become a working mother until Jamie started the first grade. She was a Teachers Aid at Shallotte High School, later she kept books at Shallotte Hardware. In June of 1971 She, Alton, and their two sons started Shallotte Electric and Plumbing Supply, in a closed Red and White Grocery Store on Main Street in Shallotte. She ran the accounting department, the paint department, and worked the hardware inventory. E. B. managed the accounting with a pencil, paper, ledger books and an adding machine without automation from 1971 until her retirement, working over 740 charge accounts and the cash receipts and banking for three locations in 1997. Alton and E. B. trained hundreds of people, old and young in the 27 years at helm of their family business. Electricians, plumbers, accountants/bookkeepers, salesmen/women, paint color match (by eye), HVAC, pump mechanics, well, pumps and water conditioning. Today their life’s dream, hard work and dedication, have four branches and 74 employees.   E. B. was the absolute Faith Rock of our family life and business. She prayed almost continually over little things, big things, tragic things and joyous things!! It was foremost in her thoughts. As part of her human struggles of life, that no-one is immune from, hers were lung issues and later, dementia for 17 to 18 years, her personal prayer connection never waivered or was diminished. Sometimes she did not know Al from Jamie, but her prayer life was rock solid to the end. Thanks be to GOD.   She also always put her family ahead of herself. Her ultimate wish for her children and grandchildren was that they had accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and that they did not smoke. We will miss her love, support, presence in the family, and the wisdom and faith-based advice, but there is not doubt where she is now, waiting on us!

E.B.’s Pallbearers are Ronnie Gore, Eric Brandt, Jason Meggs, Willis Daniels, Renee’ Whitby, and Keith Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Glen Williamson and Glen Norwood Williamson ( Ike ).

Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2022 at Village Point United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior.

Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
