Obituary
Edson D. "Ed" Norris of Archer Florida, died Saturday November 5th, 2016. He was born September 30th, 1948, in Wilmington. NC, the second son of the late Frank Mendel Norris, Sr. and the late Virginia Bishop Norris. He was a graduate of the Class of 1966 of Shallotte High School, the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and was a Veteran of the US Navy.
Ed was employed for many years in the commercial Ice industry and served as President of the Florida Ice Association and the Southern Ice Exchange
He is survived by his wife of 38 year Gloria Tatum Norris of the home, his children , Megan Shultzaberger and husband John of Archer, FL, Jacey Norris of Chicago, Illinois, and Doug Norris of the home. He is also survived by his brothers Frank Mendel Norris, Jr. (Susan) of Jacksonville Fl, John Phillip Norris (Sandy) and Steve M. Norris (Traci) of Ash, NC, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was a member and Past Master of Archer Masonic Lodge, and was Past District Deputy Grand Instructor and Past District Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Florida, Free and Accepted Masons. In addition he was a member of Sudan Shriners
Memorial services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, November 9th, at Archer First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Priscilla Scherrah officiating and Masonic Rites
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Archer First United Methodist Church, PO Box 156, Archer, FL 32618
