Our mother, Eileen Mary Fitzpatrick Lawlor, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021 at the age of 79. Born October 27, 1941 she grew up in the Bronx (Marble Hill) in NYC and attended Mother Cabrini High School. She met a young man in the late 1950's from Power Memorial High School (Manhattan), James Lawlor, and their 60+ year story began. They married on June 17, 1967 and have been married ever since. First moving to Yonkers outside NYC from the Bronx, they eventually settled into raising their family in Mohegan Lake, NY.  Eileen was mother to 3 children (Jim, Kelley and Brian) and balanced work and raising children at the same time like no one could imagine. Eventually James and Eileen moved out of New York in the late 1990's and began a new chapter in Calabash, NC.  The slower change of pace, and new lifestyle added countless joy to her life.  She stayed in touch with all of her long time NYC friends and family throughout her entire life (Jim & Carol Sheerin (Patricia, Christopher, and Carolyn), Robert & Maureen Hartwig (Bob, Richie, and Annmarie), Arlene Scanlon, Eileen Hanson, Carol Russell, Gerri Sweeney, Carol Lawlor, and Helen O'Leary). Eileen also had many friends from Mohegan Lake and together with her NYC friends and family all formed a circle of companionship like no other.  She enjoyed shopping, vacationing, cooking, and watching countless games shows on TV.  She was a grandmother to 5 boys (Christopher (Paige), Patrick, Alex (Kelley and Joe Orlando) Jake and Ben (Jim and Kay Lawlor) and they will all miss her dearly. She is survived by her husband of 53 years James P. Lawlor, and 3 children: Jim Lawlor (Kay), Kelley Orlando (Joe) and Brian Lawlor (Kathleen) and her nephew and nieces: John Fitzpatrick., Jeanne Bovenkerk, and Katherine Kelly.  She is predeceased by her parents, John Fitzpatrick (Mary Kovalick) and her brothers John Fitzpatrick, and Paul Fitzpatrick.  Mom we love you and will miss you more than you know. Thanks for allowing us all to fly our own path... fly high yourself mom...Rest in Peace...we will miss you dearly...Love Jim, Kelley and Brian

In lieu flowers we ask that donations be made to Brunswick Health and Rehab (Ash NC) in Eileen Lawlor's name for their Holiday Resident Party (9600 Number 5 School Rd NW Ash, NC 28420).  They have taken great care of our Mom the past 2+ years, and now will continue to take care of our Father who is there as well.  God Bless
