Elizabeth (Libby) Mary Ingraham
Obituary
Elizabeth (Libby) Mary Ingraham (Gruver), age 80, of Calabash, NC, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon on November 27, 2021, with her husband by her side.
Libby was born in Forty Fort, PA, on January 15, 1941, to Clyde R. Gruver Sr. and Jessie (Walters) Gruver.
Libby was in the first graduating class at Chenango Valley High School in 1958. She then graduated from Charles S. Wilson Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1961. Libby received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Service from New Hampshire College in 1984. Receiving her Bachelor's Degree was a lifelong goal that she proudly accomplished as a full-time working mother.
Libby is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Brenton J. Ingraham, her two daughters Vanessa E. Dixon of Newport Beach, CA, and Robyn M. Dixon (Ausherman), husband Aaron Ausherman, and granddaughter Jada Elizabeth Ausherman of Dallas, Texas, her sister(s) in-law Virginia Gruver, Brenda Ripley, brother-in-law Brian Ingraham, wife Dina, several nieces, grand-nieces, and many lifelong friends. Libby is predeceased by her parents, Clyde (1989) and Jessie (1990) Gruver, and her brother Clyde Gruver Jr. (2019). Libby had fond memories of her family and friends and loved you all very much.
Libby and Brent moved from Binghamton, NY, to Calabash, NC, in April 2001, where they enjoyed their beautiful life, home, and amazing friends. She was so proud of her daughters and granddaughter Jada Elizabeth, who brought her life, unconditional love, and a smile to her face. Libby also loved Pepsi, sweets, especially chocolate, eating the ears off her kids' Easter Bunnies, and on occasion, ice cream in the middle of the night. She worked as a nurse with over 30-year of experience, later becoming an educator, teaching practical nursing at a technical high school, a job she loved. Libby passed on her love for helping people and her knowledge to future generations of nurses.
Words cannot express how much you will be missed, especially your love, laughter, sense of humor, and smile. Thank you for being the best wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to us all. We love you so much, and your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
A special thanks to all the fantastic caretakers who were so meaningful in Libby’s life.
