Elrich Yates “Rick” Hickman, Jr., 70, of Hickman’s Crossroads died February 3, 2020. He was the son of the late Elrich Yates Hickman and Mary Ellen Permenter Hickman. Ricky was a well-known guitarist and vocalist in the popular local band, Crossroads, which he co-founded. He retired from the Brunswick County Operation Services Mosquito Control after thirty-seven years of service. He was a fun loving man of simple taste, but nothing was of greater importance to him than his family. Rick loved playing the guitar and being outdoors.
Surviving are his daughters, Ashley Hickman Goheen (Matthew) of Calabash and Erika Hickman Campbell (Rusty) of Supply; sister, Diane Hewett (Freddy) of Shallotte; and grandchildren, Yates Goheen, Asher Goheen, Parker Campbell, and Mallory Campbell. He is also survived by his best friend, Jeff Brown.
Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 8, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
