Ethel Mae Midgette, 82, Ocean Isle Beach, NC died January 17, 2021.
Born in Brunswick County on August 31, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Tharpe and Ettie Rabon Tharpe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucian Tharpe, Alvin Tharpe, Lena Prince, Carrie Jackson, Mae Hudson, and Ivadell Todd.
Prior to retirement, she owned and operated Miss Ethel’s Fresh Ocean Shrimp Seafood Market. She was a member of Thomasboro Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Larry D. Tharpe and life companion, Jenine Coffield, Ash, NC; a brother, Layton Tharpe, Ash, NC; granddaughter, Tierra Walton and many nieces and nephews..
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 2PM in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
