Obituary
Ethel Toal Bachand, 95, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Ethel was born in Harrisburg, PA on January 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Lewis Toal and Emma Sims Toal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leo Bachand, son Ronald Bachand, daughter Kathryn Bernard.
Ethel held many jobs throughout her life, but the most important roles to her were being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She cherished every moment of being a homemaker and helping others. She served in her church on the Altar Guild and was also a Daughter of the King.
She is survived by her loving family, sons Robert Bachand and Richard Bachand, daughter Karen Stone and husband Daniel; brother Joseph Toal, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel (5229 Ocean Hwy West, Shallotte, NC 28470) with Travis Stone officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
