Obituary
Evelyn Register Batson, 86, of Shallotte died July 14, 2022. Born in Brunswick County on March 9, 1936 she was a daughter of George Albert Register and Florence Geneva Ludlum Register. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Calvin Batson, Jr., brother, O’Neal Grissett and a sister, Rutha Lee Phelps.
She was retired from Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation as a Service Representative. She was a member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church, and a member of Gideon’s International.
Surviving are her daughter, Julie Owens (David), Shallotte; son, Cal Batson (Stephanie), Shallotte; brother, Kenneth Grissett, Ocean Isle Beach; sisters, Selene Robinson, Supply and Judy Blanton, Wilmington; grandchildren, Kelly Willetts Reddick (Stephen), Zachary Batson (Jennifer), and Saxon Owens (Katie); and great grandchildren, Avery and Boone.
There will be a visitation from 2:00 until 3:30 PM, Saturday, July 16 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte.
The funeral service will be private.
The family requests memorials be made to The Gideon’s International, POB 14080, Nashville, TN 37214; Old Shallotte Baptist Church, 394 Longwood Road, NW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 29469 or the charity of one’s choice.
