Frances Virginia Tripp Sullivan, age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at her home in Shallotte, NC.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in New Hanover County, NC on June 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Samuel Curtis and Virginia Gray Tripp. Frances was a loving mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, Pastor, Sister, Aunt, and always put God first in her life. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Sullivan, and to this marriage, three children were born. Pastor Frances as she was known to many was raised in a God fearing home with her sisters and brothers.
Frances Sullivan was a substitute teacher in the Brunswick County School System for many years. Frances always had a passion for studying the word of God, which pressed her to go back to school and work on her Bachelor’s degree in Theology at Christ for the Nations, in Dallas, Texas, 1978. She received a Master degree in Theology, 2006, and a doctorate of Divinity, Richmond, Virginia, 2007, from Spirit of Truth Institute. Soon after she opened Shallotte Community Chapel Christian School for 12 years. When the school was closed in 2001, she encouraged others to open Christian Schools in Brunswick County. Dr. Frances T. Sullivan, was Dean of the Brunswick Bible Institute until 2009. She was also Pastor of Shallotte Community Chapel.
Dr. Frances T. Sullivan was a woman that truly loved the Lord and she was very passionate about the word of God. She lived a Godly life, and set the standard for all to follow.
Dr. Frances Sullivan was unselfish when it came to people. She would feed you if you were hungry, cloth you, pray for you, provide for you, and encourage you during your toughest times. She trusted and believed God in everything that she did and she truly was a woman that walked by faith. She not only believed, she demonstrated it every day and showed us all that her faith in God was undeniable. When her health began to fail, and she depended on others for her personal daily needs, she never let that stop her from doing the work God called her to do. Even those last few weeks she was making full proof of her ministry , she was an example of Christ in word and indeed.
She truly fought a good fight and has gone to get her reward. She was loved by many, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
