Frank Burnette Kelley III

Frank Burnette Kelley III

Frank Burnette Kelley III, 76, of St James Plantation, Southport NC (formerly Milford CT) passed away peacefully in his home on August 4, 2018.

Born in Rochester NY, he was the son of the late Frank B. Kelley Jr. and Jean Combs Kelley. After graduating from Milford High School, Frank was hired by Sikorsky Aircraft where he spent 38 very challenging and rewarding years until retiring as a design engineer.

While advancing his career, Frank proudly spent his military service in the CT Army National Guard.

Frank leaves behind his loving wife of 23 years Elena DeCicco Kelley, two daughters, Jennifer Mastroni and her husband Ronald and Kathleen O’Brien and her husband Austin. Additionally, two brothers Doug Kelley and his wife Susan and David Kelley and his wife Jan and seven nieces and nephews. Frank, also known as Pop-Pop, leaves behind three beautiful grandchildren Ronald (11), Sarah (4), and Kelley (2).

Frank was an avid runner and if you lived in Milford there is a good chance you saw him running every day after work. He ran two NYC Marathons with the Road Runners Club, loved taking his children skiing in VT, spending winters in Florida while golfing with Elena, reading books, and laughing with friends while cooking out or overlooking the harbor. Frank had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A private celebration of Frank’s life will be held in CT at a future date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice SECU Brunswick House, 1414 Physicians Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401
