Frank James Gennari, age 80 of Southport, NC (St. James Community) passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia, NC.

He was born in Copiague, New York on July 19, 1941, the son of the late Frank Gennari and Beatrice Massaro Gennari.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gennari.

Frank joined the Nassau County Police Department and quickly moved over to the Suffolk County Police Department in 1965. He started out in the 2^nd Precinct in Foot Patrol and quickly transferred to the prestigious Detective Division. He worked in the Narcotics Squad Section, Fifth Precinct Squad, 6^th Precinct Section and Crime Control Section. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was Past International President of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club from 1991-1992.

Frank had many interests and hobbies, but was most passionate about firearms, hunting and motorcycling. He has traveled the world, shipping his own motorcycle to ride numerous countries in Europe on several occasions.

He loved his family, friends and his country. With a magnetic personality he easily welcomed you, made you smile and even told a joke or 2, or 3, or 4 or 5! He loved Neil Diamond and Frank Sinatra and lived his life his way.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-four years, Deborah (Debbie) Gennari; his children, Kim Gennari-Walker (Husband, Christopher Walker) and Gregg Gennari; grandchildren, Gabrielle Walker, Mary Gennari, Jonathan Walker and Taylor Walker; a brother Mark Gennari(Delores).

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony at 11:00 AM Monday, November 1, 2021 at the St. James Community Center, 4136 Southport-Supply Road, Southport, NC 28461. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in Long Island, NY at a later date to be determined.
