George Floyd “Rusty” Kirby, III, died January 11, 2022 from complications of COVID. He was born January 31, 1961, a son of the late George Floyd Kirby, Jr. and Jacqueline Pulley Kirby. Rusty was a jokester and a lover of music. He had played drums with several local bands, and served his community for many years through the Shallotte Volunteer Rescue Squad. He was a Christian and enjoyed attending the Beach Christian Recovery Church.
Surviving are his son George Floyd “Chip” Kirby, IV of Shallotte; sister, Cheryl K. Bellamy (Bill); and nephews, Kirby Bellamy (Meagan) and Morgan Bellamy (Victoria) all of Shallotte.
Services will be conducted by The Rev. Jason Benton at the graveside on Friday, January 14th, at 11:00 AM in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
