Obituary
George Stanley Harthausen, 76, of Carolina Shores died Sunday, October 2, 2016.
He was born October 23, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland, a son of the late Thomas and Lura Belle Vernon Harthausen. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Fort.
George has lived in Brunswick County for thirteen years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Gura Harthausen; daughter, Kimberly Fort (John) of Newburg, MD; sister, Colleen Donahue of Glenn Burnie, MD; grandchildren, Daniel Williams, John Williams, Jr., John Fort and Kevin Fort; six great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm October 5, 2016 in the chapel of the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Burial will be October 7, 2016 at Quantico Cemetery in Quantico, VA. with military honors.
